We are a private members’ group dedicated to discussing existential risks, advanced technology, and the future of humanity.
We meet twice a month in person.
(1) Current groups and legacy debating unions have become fundamentally compromised by algorithmic incentive structures and performative social pressures to “virtue signal,” which prioritise viral engagement, tribal slogans, and brand safety over the rigorous, uncensored dialectic needed to address existential human questions.
(2) Many groups lack the filtering and foundational literacy needed for serious inquiry.
Our goal is not to be arbitrarily “uncensored”; rather, certain discussions require openness to a wide range of ideas to avoid echo chambers and the homogenisation of thought.
There is no application process. Participation is managed through direct personal introduction and verified vetting/referrals by existing members. In rare cases, you may apply via personal outreach.
Discussions, activities, talks, etc..
Members must initally demonstrate foundational literacy in relevant technical/scientific and philosophical fields and maintain the ability to engage in rational, anti-tribalistic discussions under scrutiny. We believe foundational literacy is what separates the merely curious/pseudoscientific "Reddit" ideas from rigourous ones.
This is NOT an anti-technology group. We love technology and it's impact, but we understand the existential risks posed by it.
We are NOT affiliated with any political groups.
This is not necessarily a debate group.
Every existing member of the group is secular: non-religious and/or non-spiritual; yet, not necessarily anti-religious.
Everything is free; you don't need to pay to be a member.
